Alright. Up and running, finally. I sat in Asian Con this morning making this blog page and never figured out how to format the page correctly. I'm back at it in my room (after a nice family dinner with the cross team) to make a second attempt. I thought to at least post something while fiddling around on the site. So far so good.
For those of you out there who don't know, I'm heading on a journey to the Far East this upcoming January. The program is an Asian Conversation program where we learn about the history and its dynamic relationship to the rest of the world, and how the journeys to the West affected the Asian population. All this mainly through the personal narrative, which we come to realize is quite important to learning about historical events. Integrated with the Chinese and Japanese language courses, we will perform ethnographic research while in China (or Japan, based on the target language (mine being Chinese)). This consists of interviews with numerous Chinese young adults, to learn more about Chinese culture and its comparison to American culture.
This blog hopefully be able to facilitate your accompaniment as I make the trek beginning January 4, 2012.
First blog post, check. Exposition to blog, check. Now back to fixing my page then on to homework.
